Zero Air

MSDS

Zero Air, also known as Dry Air or Synthetic Air, is a tasteless, odorless, colorless, and nonflammable gas. While it may assist in burning due to its high oxygen content, the main difference between Zero Air and atmospheric air lies in their impurity levels. Zero Air contains significantly lower amounts of water vapor and hydrocarbons compared to atmospheric air. Applications that require minimal or no presence of impurities like moisture or hydrocarbons utilize Zero Air or Dry Air.

The production of Zero Air involves mixing pure nitrogen and pure oxygen in controlled quantities and under a controlled atmosphere. This mixing technique requires expertise to ensure the production of high-quality Zero Air that is free from moisture and hydrocarbons. In scenarios where a continuous and large quantity of Zero Air is required, a Zero Air cylinder quad is used. This setup consists of interconnected cylinders with a common outlet.

Zero Air is essential in many laboratories and research centers, particularly for electronic instruments like Gas Chromatographs (GC). A high-quality Zero Air with very low or negligible water and hydrocarbon content improves the lifespan of a Flame Ionization Detector (FID) used in GC.

Here are some common uses of Zero Air:

1. Gas Chromatography: Zero Air is utilized as a flame gas in Gas Chromatography for Flame Ionization Detectors (FID) and Flame Photometric Detectors (FPD). It can also serve as a dry air purge gas in Gas Chromatography for Atomic Emission Detectors (AED).

2. Emission Analyzers: Zero Air is used to calibrate and check the levels of various hydrocarbon impurities in emission analyzers.

3. Chemical Analysis and Process Control: Zero Air finds application in various chemical analysis and process control applications where the absence of moisture and hydrocarbons is critical.

By providing high-quality Zero Air with minimal impurities, We meets the needs of laboratories and research centers requiring this specialized gas for precise analytical measurements and instrument operation.
